We met friends here based on the combination of location and the good reviews. We liked the decor and overall coziness of the interior. The gentleman who we took to be the owner was gracious. However, our server was intrusive and awkward, bordering on rude. He bumped into one of us multiple times and rather than walking around the table to place another person's plate, literally reached across the table and in front of two of us. When we ordered coffee, we had to ask him to bring sweetener, which he did not, instead going to another table to take their order. We are not complaining diners, but this was painful! The food was only ok. We won't be back.

A real taste treat to go along with their normal outstanding service and romantic environment must try Fiocchi con Pere Pasta Purse, Filled w/ Gorgonzola & Pears, in a Light Pink Sauce. The chocolate mousse a treat for four

I feel like I'm back in the city whenever I eat at Rusticas. Great ambiance, unbelievable food, and attentive service. It's great to have little bit of Italy 20 min away.

Reservations mean nothing to them. Expect to wait 20 minutes for your reservation if you show up on time We left and went next door.

If you're looking for a romantic Italian restaurant where the food is simply exquisite, this is the place to go. The decor appears to be Shabby Chic with wine-bottles lining the walls, perfectly dimmed lighting and soft music playing in the background. We ordered the house cab, which was highly recommended by another Yelper. And, I must say it was quite good and went very well with our food selection. Our server wheeled out a cart displaying their most popular dishes and specials of the day. Reading the menu was a waste of time - once our server actually showed us the dishes on the cart and described each dish with such detail that it made me want to order one of each! For appetizer, we went with the calamari filled with risotto. OMG! That's all I have to say!! Just thinking about that dish makes my mouth water. For dinner, I ordered the pumpkin ravioli ... which was perfectly cooked al dente and just melted in my mouth. My date ordered the seafood risotto and I just had to steal a little bite (ok, it was more like 2 or 3 bites) and it was oooohhhh soooo delish! We ordered more wine and left room for dessert. Ok, maybe I lied -- we had absolutely NO room for dessert, so we ordered it to go. We went with the Tiramisu which was very good. But the highlight of the evening was definitely the appetizer and the entrees. And the owner, Chef Nino, is wonderful. He came to our table a few times to ensure that we were enjoying our meal. Indeed we did, Chef Nino! It was eccellente!

Rustico Italiano is an excellent restaurant. It has all the accoutrements of a successful enterprise............charming decor, good service, good food, interesting menu, and the owner Nino is out and about and visits your table a few times during the meal. There is one huge hole in the donut. Any real Italian wants to finish his meal with an espresso. The one that was served to me was terrible. I called Nino himself over who told me the problem was i had order a double, not a single and he would personally make me a single. He brought it over and it was just as putrid. I had to wait to get home to finish my meal.

You have never eaten Italian food like this unless you've been to Italy in their finest! This is the real deal. We travel 45 minutes to an hour to have the finest Italian with the BEST ambience and chef!!! Chef Nino makes you feel like family! His dishes are all prepared daily in house never frozen and he makes all his own pasta! Try the truffle ravioli....!!! To die for!

Really enjoy eating here! Food is great, atmosphere is fun, and of course Nino, the owner, always makes you feel very much at home! Definitely recommend eating here, just can't get enough of this place!!

Let it be known that I NEVER seek out Italian food because I come from a mostly Italian fam and am pretty much pasta-ed out. I came to this restaurant in celebration of friend birthday. It's small but beautiful. The wait staff is so so exceptional....professional, fast and armed with wise recommendations/knowledge about the eve's menus. Portions are siazable. My friend and I ordered an entree to share....it was a special consisting of crab meat, risotto and sundried tomato. Everything was genuinely wonderful :)

I will use exceptional for this review. Food far from exceptional, service, a. Little exceptional hand in hat. Price beyond exceptional, exceptional if I return. Tiny portions, big prices.

This is NOT Olive Garden or Bertucci's: (take the kids there and get the early bird special!) Go here with one or more special adults and enjoy great food. I have had some fantastic Italian food all over the US, most notably in Boston's North End but this food is as authentic and excellent as any I have had. The Veal Saltimbocca was incredible and the restaurant was a nice surprise. Yes it is small and quaint, and maybe a little pricey but the quality is top notch and the people are very nice.

When I made the reservation I made it clear we were celebrating 3 big birthdays. They said they would provide a birthday cake. On arrival, we also reminded then of the celebration. No effort was made to make the meal special. The staff went through specials extremely fast, and only one end of the table forcing the rest of us to ask multiple times about the specials and to hurry up and order.. The place is small and they were packed but it doesn't excuse the rushed and curt service!! Food was expertly prepared...no complaints. No special dessert, cake or recognition of the celebration. Noise level was high...not the intimate place they advertise it to be.

Cozy atmosphere and romantic vibe. Appetizers were tasty. Food came in a semi-timely fashion. Previous reviews were deceiving because it should be $$$$ instead of just $$. Disappointed with dessert. Cannoli was very bland. The worst I've ever had. Air conditioning was running on high, abnormally cold inside. Not recommended and will never go back again.

Sometimes you leave a restaurant and are happy that you spent the money that you did on a meal. Great job. Great tastes and great service. Thank you Yelp reviewers for your comments. Not cheap but well worth it. Great job

Went there for the first time since moving to Lake Worth, and was very happy with the location, the homey feel, the service and of course the food. Did not see any plastic food per poor reviewers, but real food under plastic was presented, and it looked delicious, despite the presentation which stuffy folks might find pedestrian. This place is not trying to fool you, or make every movement or decision a work of art that they charge you extra for. It is like eating at someone's home in a way. They are going to show you a dish exactly like the one you will get, and then, since it is under plastic, probably eat the dish later, because that just makes sense. If you need pampering, and smoke and mirrors, just leave this place alone. I am sure enough fans of Rustico will find a use for your empty seat. We ordered a nice Nero d'Avola from Sicily, and it was great. We had several shared appetizers, homemade sausage, a mozzarella specialty, Carpacio Carne, and Calamari, all very tasty. Then I had Gamberi Con Asparagi, and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. My review is only four stars, because it is my first visit, and it is difficult to fully endorse a restaurant after only one pass. Also, I was not blown away per se, but I was definitely pleased. I will be back. So take that as you will, and my review may be upgraded and I may order something that is out of this world phenomenal, and not so conservative as my last meal. Food for thought. Finally, I thought the price was just right. Wine is always expensive when dining out. I may check to see if there is a corkage fee next time. Overall, great food, cozy, and affordable.

We were more than impressed with our first visit to this quaint little spot. AMAZING SERVICE & FOOD! We ordered their fresh in house made pastas (tour of raviolis & gnocchi), and I am still dreaming of their gnocchi! They do have summer hours, closed Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday along with the month of September. We cant wait to go back! It will definitely be in our rotation!

Warm, romantic, chic, friendly, authentic Southern Italian cuisine from Capri... these are just a few words to describe an absolutely wonderful experience. I lived in Firenze for several months and never ate this well! Il Mulino is one of my favorite Italian spots in NYC and this beats it. EVERYTHING here is incredibly fresh... Nino, the owner, is charming and an absolute sweetheart. Favorites: risotto, canneloni stuffed with veal shank in a light mushroom sauce, meatballs stuffed with mozzarella... basically everything is overwhelmingly delicious. Don't skip dessert.

Impressed. I have never been to the downtown Lakeworth area until this past weekend. My boyfriend wanted to dine in an area we hadn't yet. He looked up the reviews on this place on trip advisor and there were nothing but great things said. This is a TRUE Italian joint. If you order the Fettuccine Bolognese you will know what I mean. Only a TRUE Italian restaurant can master such a simple dish as fettuccine bolognese. To start we had a ravioli stuffed with black truffle in a cream truffle sauce. Very good. I then ordered the fresh hog-snapper with the lemon sauce and capers. DELICIOUS! Can't go wrong with hog-snapper. The owner, Neno, was extremely helpful in helping us choose what to order as I always like recommendations at a new place. I was most impressed with the bolognese and the wine list. Standing ovation to Neno for hand selecting the wines on his menu. I love going to a restaurant where you do not recognize the wines because none of them are marketed or extremely well known. Neno has some great taste in wine. Try the Barolo red. It is a blend or Merlot and Cabernet. Excellent! And for only $14.50 a glass, it should be $20.00. This place is truly a diamond in the rough. The decor transports you to your imaginary Italian grandmother's house in the middle of Tuscany. Absolutely wonderful! A MUST go if you are an Italian cuisine connoisseur !

Love this place. Good seafood. Only complaint: Service is a hit or miss - They sent me home with someone's leftovers the last time I ate here.

While in downtown Lake Worth, we went with a group. There are a couple round tables but it's a tight fit. Cozy, quaint hole in the wall old-school Italian with some sidewalk seating. We ordered the specials (Kobe meatballs, Calamari, Osso Bucco) and wines (good selection). Most of the food was rich and some dishes tasty. Overall, it was an average experience for an above average price tag. Service was spott and unfortunately the food is very expensive for what you get and we were overcharged for a couple dishes. The tickets are handwritten and liberties were taken. $48 for my pasta with squid ink. If you do go, double check your tab. Though, on Yelp there are other Italian restaurants that sound more appealing. We'll be back to visit S. FL but not this establishment.

Owner/Chef Nino - Yes! We had such a great experience on our first visit to Rustico Italiano we had to share. At work and in our neighborhood we received authentic and what we now know is truthful praise, . You (especially) and your staff treated us as if we were frequent guests of your establishment. Because we don't need food volume, savory instead, you fostered our desire to order one course at a time starting with a shared whole stuffed and baked artichoke with delicious results. Then with your help we crafted a main dish of assorted ravioli. Divine. Not too much. Suddenly we decided to move to desert with equally great home-baked flavors. Great service...led by the Owner/Chef Nino who during our visit interacted several times with each and every patron. Our tip: Don't go unless Owner/Chef Nino is present as he was Sunday, July 29, 2012. We shall return.

What a gem! Quaint and cozy, not modern and cold. The food is authentic and delicious. We went on a Sunday evening (our last night staying on Palm Beach) and there was only one other table dining that night. It was quiet and very romantic. We tried the freshly made mozzarella as an appetizer. It was very good, but not as flavorful as I had expected. I had a Caeser salad and the trio of ravioli which were both perfection with a wonderful little Prosecco. We shared the tiramisu for dessert and it was absolutely the best I have ever had, paired with a delicious cup of coffee. I highly recommend Rustico to anyone looking for something special.

Rustico Italiano is one of the most authentic italian restaurants outside of Italy. They have incredible dishes with fantastic flavor! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Its better than every italian restaurant I have ever been to including NYC. One note, however, is that it is more on the expensive side than $$ but worth every penny!

Whenever I visit my grandfather, we always make sure to eat here for dinner. Don't get the wrong idea though - this is not a restaurant that caters to the old folks. I would actually say it has more of a romantic vibe :) The food is delicious and they have great service. On my last visit, I had a warm octopus salad for an appetizer that was particularly tasty. The location is also nice. I don't know Lake Worth that well, but it seems to be situated in a downtown area and I noticed other cute restaurants and bars near by. Check it out!

This is some of the best Italian food I've ever had in my life. The decor was dark and romantic and the restaurant itself was very small and cozy. The waiter insisted I have the eggplant appetizer. Through his thick Italian accent he offered, "if it's not the best you've ever had it's free.": it was the best I ever had. I have to recommend the sausage, as a cultural habit I don't eat much pork but when I was told that they hand make their own sausage in the restaurant I had to disobey my heritage and thank god I did, I finished every bite of that oversized plate and even finished my delicious teramisu. Bottom line: get a sausage entree and eggplant appetizer. You will get a desert because they take your order before you've eaten the entree. Rustico is as authentic as italian food gets.

Outstanding, delicious italian. Service seemed somewhat disorganized, never quite sure who our primary waiter was. Do not go if you are in a big hurry. Went on Saturday night and the place was packed. Reservations are a must.

This place has a very appealing exterior, looks like an old-world restaurant in Tuscany or the south of France. Inside it is a little more contrived, but there is some interesting artwork and a pretty amazing collection of wine bottles adorning the walls around the somewhat small dining room. We had made reservations ahead of time, though the host did not ask us, and as the place was nearly full, and they were going to clean a table off to seat us, he asked us to please step outsiede for a minute while this was being done (the vestibule is pretty tiny). I explained to him that it was raining outside, and he said, "Oh, OK, that's alright, wait here a minute." The only other thing we thought strange is that the captain and manager and waiter/busboy would come and show each table a plastic facsimile of the night's specials and main courses. Normally, in some old-world restaurants, the routine is to do this at dessert, showing actual dishes on a cart. So we were somewhat put off when the waiter showed us these clumsy, large, plastic fish when describing bronzini, one of the night's specials. In fact, we ordered the bronzini, and it came in two tiny filets that were heavily buttered, and obviously did not look anything like the model we had been shown. Normally, in a good Italian restaurant, the waiter will ask you if you'd like your fish de-boned/filteted, which obviously they did not do here (in fact, in one of my favorite local Italian places, if I know the fish is fresh, I sometiems ask them not to filet it, but to leave it on the bone instead, as I enjoy tasting the skin and tender parts of the head), and some places will do the fileting in front of you, if you wish. Ok, so the fish was fileted prematurely and a little overdone, but my canelloni with veal was truly wonderful. And the wine, a Valpolicella, was really very good. The wait staff and management obviously try very hard to please, and as such, it seems that the restaurant is young, though one of the senior managers is obviously old-school Italian, dressed will and polite, in contrast to his younger, quire green, clad-in-a-fancy work shirt and baggy trousers waiter, and the other senior manager also older, seemed either tired or else a bit disaffected about his role, addressing us as if the whole scene was somewhat amusing (we were dressed well, though a chap at one of the other tables was wearing an old T-shirt, so if he was amused by us, I cannot see why). Because the business seems young, and the staff eager to please, my guess, and hope, is that the restaurant matures and smooths out its service and presentation, as the chef truly has potential to make this one of South Florida's great Italian restaurants.

Love it. I recommend that you engage the owner and staff (the owner actually waits on tables) and simply ask them for suggestions. You will not be disappointed. They are very honest about their food, and I have never been steered wrong. It's quaint, delicious, all homemade and cozy. It feels like a slice of Europe.

I thought the atmosphere and the food were excellent. The servers and the manager were more than attentive. I would have to say that it was a very enjoyable evening and we would return. The only thing I think needs to be changed is the $$ rating. It is definitely in the $$$ range.

This has been deemed our special occasion restaurant as we always love the food here and the personal service we receive. Every time we go it seems like the entire restaurant is waiting on us and we are greeted personally by the owner. I have had the Zuppa di Pesce, Fiocchi con Pere and the Marinated Anchovies and all I can say is yum, yum, and yum. It's really hard to appreciate any other Italian restaurant who doesn't serve freshly made pasta like this place does because wow what a difference. They also have an extensive wine list and are more than happy to suggest something to you within your price range (sometimes even if that means discounting a bottle for you). This place makes me look forward to my next birthday!

The food was very good - unbelievably delicious ravioli in particular. Service was odd. The owner was great, the employee/server was a bit off. But this place is absolutely worth a visit.

I am utterly shocked by the high ratings I read. I went there because of them, but after you read ours, I think you might reconsider ever going there. The food was average-nothing great, and the service and attitude of the wait staff was rude and well below what one should expect at a supposed fine dining establishment. Let me explain. I took my father there for his 80th birthday (4 of us). We had reservations. We were about to be seated at a table where it was quite noisy. I asked for the open table in the corner by the wine and the maitre de rudely said "I'm sure you would like that one, this is where your party will be seated". I responded and said, I'm sorry but its my father's birthday and I would like the corner table. Well, we did get the corner table, but the attutude of staff did not improve. Throughout the dinner, the service was provided with little or no warmth or engagement. It was like ..ok, here's your food. We were shown the fish and pasta of the day, which could have been a nice idea, but wrapped in plastic wrap on a steel cart wheeled into the restaurant? Come on! As to the food, the salad contained wilted lettuce and tasted as if it were laying around all day. The gnocchi was chewy, the pasta too well done (sticky) but decent flavor. Overall, not an experience worthy of the price. There are far too many good italian restaurants in the area to frequent. We would suggest you think again before ever going here.

I was looking for a restaurant to take my mother to for Mother's Day. I went through Yelp reviews while sitting at home on LI. Thank you to fellow posters. My mother loved the dining experience. She can be fussy. The atmosphere was very pleasant with a lot of wine bottles lining the walls including right behind my chair in the corner. I was afraid to pull my chair out too far a break one of their expensive wines. I had home made Italian sausage sauteed with broccoli rapini oil and garlic in a red sauce. It was excellent. My mother had veal in a white sauce with asparagus. She liked it very much. Prices seemed reasonable. I can't say the same for desert. My mother had a white cake with some fruit on it. For $10 plus tip and tax and not a very big slice I thought it was over priced although it was tasty. I must comment on the waiters. From our waiter to those that I could overhear they all seemed to have very pleasant and humorous personalities. It was probably practiced but never the less fun to listed to.

Rustico is such a charming and romantic Italian restaurant. The owner could not be friendlier, or more accommodating (I'm a vegetarian). The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. We visit regularly from Michigan -- and Rustico is on our priority list!

Let me preface this with I am from NY, so my experience with Italian food is slightly jaded as well as it being touched by a trip for 3 weeks to Northern Italy. This place although somewhat nice is not what I would call 4 stars at all. My risotto which was a special was actually cold in the middle. The portions are small, not what I would expect from an Italian restaurant, especially one that is not Michelin rated or at the top of Zagat's. Never mind you have to dodge crack heads and transients to get to the place (I have been traveling to this are for over 34 years, since I was 3 months old). I should have complained but it is not my nature, and for the prices they are charging felt I shouldn't have to. If you want to spend your money and in South Florida 150 bucks for dinner for 3 with just one drink is a lot of wood, I suggest you spend the extra few bucks and head across the bridge to Cafe Boulud in Palm Beach.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
